No AAP candidate in fray | Party to work for flood affected people | | Srinagar, Nov 23 : AamAadmi Party (AAP) has made it clear that they have not fielded any candidate for the forthcoming assembly elections in Jammu &Kashmir. AAP leader and Member National Executive Council Dr Raja MuzaffarBhat said that AAP leadership has decided that it won't contest the upcoming assembly polls in Jammu & Kashmir and instead would focus on the relief and rehabilitation work across various parts of state . The decision was taken by the National Executive Council of the party and same has been already conveyed to the AAP volunteers. " We are here to work for the people and contesting elections should is not priority . AAP is the only political party in India whose 27 MLA's donated Rs 20 lakhs each from their MLA CD fund and four MP's donated Rs 15 lakhs each from their MPLAD's plus one month's salary was donated by Dr Dharamvir Gandhi , our MP from Patiala Punjab towards the CM's relief fund which amounts to 5.42 Crores. In addition to it tons of food grains , blankets , warm clothes , untensils , warm beddings (mattresses , razayeesetc) have already been distributed in several areas of Srinagar , Kulgam , Pulwama and Budgam by AAP volunteers , and we are still in the process of doing such work and would continue the same during the whole winter " DrMuzaffar added. The statement further said that anybody claiming that he or she is a candidate on behalf of AamAadmi Party (AAP) is totally baseless and the same should be reported to AAP leadership ." We make it clear that we have not given any mandate or ticket to anybody to contest assembly elections in J&K " statement added. |
