DS Group joins Love Care Foundation for rehabilitation work in Panjar Village

JAMMU, Nov 23: DS Group has joined hands with Love Care Foundation to provide relief to the flood affected people in Jammu and Kashmir and rehabilitation of flood and land slide hit people of the Panjar village in Udhampur district. The Foundation has adopted the Panjar village situated in a remote area of Udhampur district, which was totally washed away by a landslide during the heavy rains.
The entire village was wiped out and the people alive lost everything they had. To provide relief to the victims Love Care Foundation alongwith DS Group have taken on the responsibility of building 56 hutments for these survivors to help them keep warm and covered during the approaching Winter season.
This would give shelter to about 121 families who are without a roof and facing very difficult times. DS Group upholds philanthropy at the core of its values, and as a committed corporate citizen regards Corporate Social Responsibility as an integral part of its business objectives.
Bhavna Sood, Senior Vice resident Corporate Communications &PR DS Group said, "DS Group is happy to support Love Care Foundation in this relief work because we firmly believe that like business, care too, does not have any boundaries to work".
A committee comprising of the members of the affected families and the panchayat representatives, has been formed to ensure and monitor the progress of the construction. The community is also actively involved in the program, thereby ensuring that the quality of construction is not compromised. Bhushan Steel and Power and Cogentrix have also extended their support for this project.
Love Care Foundation has complimented DS Group and other Corporates for their valuable support extended for this extremely important work. Their support is helping these families receive protection on an urgent basis to save them from the approaching extreme cold winters and help them in their rehabilitation in getting back to a normalized life.
