| NC, Congress equally responsible for peoples' miseries: Mufti | | Even Parliament has no power to revoke Article 370 | | Asif Iqbal Naik

Kishtwar, Nov 23 : Former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party Patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed today said that Congress and National Conference were equally responsible for the miseries and sufferings of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in last six year and, added that even Parliament had no power to revoke Article 370 which guaranteed the accession of the state with union of India.
While targeting Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that all the Prime Ministers of India right from Jawahar Lal Nehru, Murarji Desai, Indira Gandhi and Atal Bihari Vajpaee who visited Jammu and Kashmir always talked about its unity with union of India by winning the hearts and minds of the people of the state. He said that PDP is only here to win the hearts and minds of people. While recalling his tenure as Chief Minister, Mufti said that his government worked with accountability and creditable and people reposed faith in the schemes and vision of PDP . He lamented that NC led coalition government after 2008 ruined the entire state and spoilt the careers of lacs of unemployed youth by lingering on the employment schemes and several power projects in state. He said that PDP always worked to maintain the bridges of friendship and brotherhood between India and Pakistan. He said that his government opened Srinagar-Muzaffara- bad bus service and work on Mughal Road was also started during his tenure, beside Chatroo-Daksum was the creation of his government when he was work minister in center and said that only PDP will work on the starting of Viloo-Sangpora tunnel for the betterment and development of district Kishtwar.
He said that PDP changed the history of J&K when his party formed the government in 2002 even when party had only h 16 seats and turned out to be the only accountable government of state.
He said that dialogue is the only option for peace, brotherhood and development in the region. He asserted that no government can touch Article 370. "It is a right of people of Jammu and Kashmir and is beneficial for people of both the communities viz Hindu and Muslims-in fact beneficial for all the communities living together in the state" he said. "Only PDP will form a government in upcoming assembly elections with huge margin of seats--- people are trusting us and I am not here to become chief Minister only--- I want to work for the people with their support in the form of mandate" said Mufti Sayeed.
He said PDP is for empowerment of every single person of this state and will create the special policies and schemes for the development and employment of Kishtwar in particular and Chenab valley in general.He appealed to the people of Kishtwar to vote and support to PDP party candidate assembly segment Kishtwar , Firdous Ahmed Tak for the betterment and development of this region. |
