| Vikram Malhotra addresses series of meetings | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 23 : Congress candidate from Jammu East and General Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Vikram Malhotra, while addressing a series of corner meetings at Indira Chowk, City Chowk, Panjthirthi, Raghunath Pura, Vikram appealed the locals to give mandate in his favour and enable him to serve the masses besides providing him with an opportunity to work for the uplift of the downtrodden and weaker sections of the society.
He said that his sincere efforts have given new dimension to Jammu East by transforming its landscape in terms of development and upgrading utility services.
He said Congress has entered into the electoral arena with sole agenda of improving facilities and ensuring fast track development. For this purpose, perspective planning is imperative for an urban constituency like Jammu East, he said and hoped that the people will appreciate the necessity of such initiatives. Malhotra said that he was overwhelmed by the support being expressed by the people towards his forward looking policies which have always stood for uplift of the downtrodden and weaker sections of society.
He said that he was working actively in Jammu East constituency for the last four years and have spent Rs 4.5 crore on development in all the 11 wards of the constituency, which includes repairs and construction of lanes and drains, tiling work of lanes, building community centres, to establish electric transformers as per the need of the area, to improve water supply schemes of PHE and to improve the basic infra structure of the schools for better future of students.
Malhotra further stated that if people want a new paradigm of development and governance in the state which is accompanied by all-round and equitable development, efficiency, transparency and people-friendly image, they will vote for Congress. He said divisive politics is not in the interest of common man as this brings nothing but miseries to the people.
He appealed to the citizens of Jammu east to vote in his favour and said that the vote is the future of the country and its people. He assured the people that his will continue with his efforts towards making Jammu East constituency a Model constituency. |
