Mufti attacks Omar over leaving NC's bastion in Ganderbal | Jo apne ghar ko nahi sambhal paye voh aur kya karenge" | | Alleges widespread loot in coalition Bivek Mathur Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 25: Taking a dig at Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, PDP patron, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said that those who failed to defend their bastion "Ganderbal" had decided to contest from another seat. "Representing aspirations of people is not easy for them," he said and added, "Jo apne ghar ko nahi sambhal paye voh aur kya karenge". Addressing an election rally in support of PDP candidate from Udhampur, Sukhdev Sharma, Mufti said that PDP had created history by winning all three Lok Sabha seats from Srinagar, and NC and Congress had lost all seats to PDP and BJP. "As far as assembly polls are concerned, PDP is leading in 39 out of 46 seats in Srinagar and similar is the wave of PDP in Jammu also," he claimed. "As far as Jammu region is concerned, I think BJP is somehow successful which is making inroads into the hearts of people. When PDP bagged 16 seats in 2002, it was Congress leadership who asked us to form the government. From Kathua to Kargil, atmosphere was peaceful and people were happy as numbers of employment avenues were also generated", said Mufti. He said that people of Jammu usually register their resentment for being discriminated and similar are the views of Ladakhis but it was corruption free government from 2002-2005. "There was no inter-district competition as I made it possible to adjust youth in their home districts", he asserted. "My aim is to connect people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh by hearts as NC has looted people. Recently Dr Mehboob Beg, former NC MP, joined PDP as he was impressed by PDP polices and he withdrew nomination as a NC candidate from Anantnag", Mufti added. Mufti also attacked the coalition partner Congress for remaining mum over Omar's mistakes in the coalition saying, "NC and Congress are similar in their approach. If Omar did something wrong in coalition, why Congress remained silent and didn't speak against this". Mufti called upon people to vote in favour of Sukhdev Sharma and assured that PDP will emerge as victorious in the Assembly elections. |
