60th National School Games in Badminton concludes
Malvika, Pawan excel in open event

JAMMU, Nov 25: Malvika of Maharashtra and T Pavan Krishana of Telangana clinched girls and boys titles respectively in open event of the five-day 60th National School Games in under-14 Badminton held under the banner of Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), here today.
To win the title trophy, Malvika defeated Simran, again of Maharashtra in the final. Third place bagged by Jhanvi of Gujarat. Similarly, in boys' category, T Pavan Krishnan defeated Angushman of Assam in the final. Tejas Kallolkar of Karnataka remained third.
In the valedictory function, held at University of Jammu (JU) grounds, Chief Secretary, Mohd Iqbal Khandey was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies as also other individual prizes.
He appreciated the winners from Maharashtra and Telangana in team and individual events in this five-day competition.
Earlier, Director General, DYSS, Navin Agarwal welcomed the chief guest and other distinguished gathering at the closing function. He thanked the team managers and officials of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) for their cooperation in successful conduct of the competition.
Prominent among others present were Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Shakeel Beigh, Director School Education, RA Inqualabi, Director Hospitality and Protocal, Hashmat Ali, Director Sports and Physical Education, JU, Prof Dhian Singh Bahu, vice president SGFI, Ashok Kumar, Deputy Directors, DYSS, Kanchan Bala and Haji Mirza Hussain as also observer SGFI, Satyanaryan Choudhary.
