11/25/2014 11:41:55 PM
Vijaypur, Nov 25: Referring to the backwardness and underdevelopment in Vijaypur constituency, Congress candidates from Vijaypur and former Minister Manjit Singh accused National Conference MLA and local representative for ignoring Vijaypur and said that it remain underdeveloped. As a part of election campaign, Manjit Singh addressed series of meeting in various parts of Vijaypur constituency. Singh while assuring to formulate a comprehensive and exclusive vision for overall development of Vijaypur, promised to remove backwardness and underdevelopment. He observed that Vijaypur lacks development in every sphere of life be it health, education, employment etc and there is a need to implement a comprehensive policy for the overall development. He accused the local representative of not bringing any development schemes in the Vijaypur and neglected the people despite the fact that local MLA was senior Cabinet Minister. He said during last six year local representatives only enjoyed political benefit and always adopted favouritism in the constituency as only sympathizers and workers of National Conference get benefit. Singh said that when he was elected as the MLA, he initiated various development schemes which were sabotaged. However, he said that he would not elaborate on them due to the constraints of model code of conduct. He said that Border Areas Development Project was not implemented in true spirit which left the border people to live with adversities. He appealed to the people of Vijaypur to give support and vote in his favour to bring change and overall development of Vijaypur.
