NSF demands reservation for Jammuites in SMVDU admission, faculty | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 25: National Secular Forum (NSF) today demanded reservation for students and academicians of Jammu in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) besides alleged that recruitment rules have been violate by Vice Chancellor Professor Sudhir K Jain in recruitment process. Addressing media persons, NSF president Sukhdev Singh said that VC has made the University as his personal fiefdom, where all laws were either violated or tailored by him to give benefit to his relatives (who are outsiders) in the University but no one is questioning. Sharpening his attack, he further said that SMVDU was established in Jammu division, but 90 percent of teaching staff were outsider and so the M.Phill and PhD scholars. "The student community had presumed that SMVDU would benefit them on account of providing jobs but maximum of outsiders officials were being rehabilitated by VC", he said and added that even the appointment of SK Jain as Vice Chancellor of SMVDU Katra was also illegal, as the norms of University Grants Commission (UGC) for appointment of Vice Chancellor, were compromised by the selection committee headed by Dr SS Bloeria. Singh further said that Professor Jain has only four years of experience as professor instead of minimum 10 years experience, required to be a VC, the criteria laid by University Grant Commission for appointment of VC. |
