Bhalla urges people to rise above communal polarization | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 25: Sitting Minister Culture, Horticulture and Congress party candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency Raman Bhalla today said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir especially Gandhi Nagar constituency need to rise above sectarian division and communal polarisation to give a decisive and inclusive mandate to Congress to ensure equitable development of all regions and sub-regions of the State. He stated this while addressing huge gathering after inaugurating elections office of Congress party at Nanak Nagar here today. "We have to stick together and breach new frontiers of development and progress and be assets for each other. Some of the decisive forces, who are trying to fragment us and divide people for their own political interests are enemies of this State and its future generation", he said. Thereafter giving a boost to his ongoing election campaign the minister also addressed series of public meetings in Sanjay Nagar, Gangyal and Azad Nagar areas of Gandhi Nagar constituency, which were attended by hundreds of Congress party workers, supporters and locals. The minister added the Congress sees the upcoming elections as an opportunity to establish new bonding between the communities and regions within the State. Minister urged upon women voters and youths in particular that development and progress are the main election agendas of his performances and should be compared with his predecessors whom they had rejected repeatedly but re-appears to pursue sinister designed destructive politics. In his address Bhalla also highlighted various achievements and developmental projects launched during his tenure in Gandhinagar assembly segment which included commissioning of a number of major water supply schemes, network of roads and lanes, 6 laning of Satwari to Kunjwani road, opening of new playing fields and Public Health Centres (PHCs) and installation of over two dozen tube-wells etc. He further appealed people to go through the history of candidate or party before casting their vote as it decides their future for 6 years in J&K.
