National Integration Week celebrations conclude at GDC Kathua

Kathua, Nov 25: The ongoing week long activities to mark National Integration Week organised by NSS Units of Govt Degree College (GDC) Kathua concluded here today with colourful valedictory function. The programme was organised under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers, Dr Ram Singh, Dr Rachna Singh and Dr Suraya Partap Singh.
Dr Janak Singh Andotra, Principal, Govt College for Women, Kathua was the Chief Guest while Dr B L Gupta, Principal, GDC, Kathua was the Guest of Honour.
The function started with lightening of traditional lamp jointly by Dr Janak Singh Andotra and Dr B L Gupta accompanied with Prof P K Rao, Dr Namrata, Prof Sumnesh and Dr Suram Simgh and was followed by a colourful Ganesh Vandana.
Dr Rachna presented the formal welcome address which was followed detailed report by Dr Ram Singh on the week long activities performed during the programme. Prof Sumnesh in his address appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers in spreading the message of peace, national integrity and communal harmony to the masses. Later a colorful cultural programme was presented by the NSS volunteers.
Dr B L Gupta in his address lauded the efforts of NSS Volunteers and programme officer for organising such a huge event successfully. Chief guest Dr Janak Singh congratulated the NSS Units for organising a very successful and grand event and emphasized that only the NSS Volunteers can penetrate the masses and disseminate the message of peace and integrity successfully. An amount of Rs 31000/ collected by NSS Volunteers as donations on the fund raising day for the Communal Harmony Society was handed over to the principal in the form of Demand Draft.
Chief Guest and the Guest of Honor presented cash awards to a singer and two dancers for their excellent performance during the cultural event and also releases NSS News Bulletin. Later prizes were distributed among the Volunteers who had participated in various competitions conducted during the week.
In the end formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr Suraya Partap Singh.
