“BJP on disruptive practices in Panthers citadel” | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 26: Rebuking the remarks of Senior BJP leader and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu canvassing for his party candidates in Udhampur district, Young Panthers rebutted his perception about the regional parties of Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing media persons, Young panthers spokesman Gagan Pratap Singh said that Sidhu while seeking votes for his party candidates in Udhampur exhorted the people not to vote for the regional parties since they could not form the Government in the State and failed to address the grievances of the people. Singh also eulogized the role of Panthers party in the formation of the State Government in 2002 and asserted that NPP shall once again prove instrumental in the Government formation after the ensuing elections. He further said that BJP has been resorting to disruptive and intimidatory tactics in the Panthers citadel at Ramnagar. He disclosed that of late during a public meeting of NPP candidate Harsh Dev Singh at Beri, Ramnagar some drunk activists of BJP abetted by a Sarpanch of Kattul Ganju village disrupted the proceedings by shouting and terrorizing the people. He said that in another shocking incident at village Sail Korhi Bair, Majalta a drunk BJP activist disrupted the public meeting of Panthers Party abusing the workers and women folk with his filthy and provocative rants and tore the posters and flags against whom a FIR had been lodged subsequently. Gagan said that BJP in Udhampur seems to be exasperated and frustrated and that is the reason it has opted to choose provocative tactics to create nuisance and trouble in the entire district. |
