70 Sectoral, 12 Zonal officers imparted training at Anantnag

anantnag, Nov 26: The Zonal and Sectoral officers for the smooth conduct of Assembly polls in Anantnag were imparted necessary training and technical expertise at Dak Bungalow, Khanabal by resource persons here today.
Earlier, a workshop for 70 sectoral and 12 zonal officers was also conducted under the chairmanship of District Election Officer, Anantnag.
All the technical and other related queries were explained by the experts to the satisfaction of the participating officers. DEO instructed the officers to work with honesty and dedication so that the elections are held in a free, fair and transparent manner.
It was given out in the training that basic facilities like toilet, drinking water facilities will be ensured at all polling stations and the officers were also given the briefing about training of polling staff to be deployed and the number and availability of Booth Level Officers.
DEO instructed all the officers to strictly adhere to MCC. Besides SSP and ADC Anantnag, SDM Pahalgam was also present during the training.
Meanwhile, First Level randomization of Electronic Voting Machine to be utilized during coming Assembly polls to be held under 4th phase on December 14, 2014 was also held during which EVMs were allotted to all the Six Assembly Constituencies of the district.
Representatives of all political parties were present on the occasion.
District Election Officer revealed that out of 1344 Ballot units and 975 control units available for 631 Polling stations spread over 416 locations, the randomization was held. He further said that 28 voter facilitation centres have been set up in all the Six Constituencies where voter and political parties can contact for any query. He also said that all the basic requirements will be made available at the polling stations.
DEO also instructed all the political parties to strictly adhere to the Model Code of Conduct for transparent and fair polls.
