Balwan files nomination papers shows off party strength | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 27 : Senior Congress leader and party candidate Balwan Singh today filed his nomination papers for Assembly polls amid thousands of supporters and Congress workers. Balwan arrived at election office in Marh in a procession and was accompanied by the Vice President Hari Om, Ex-MP and veteran Congress leader MadanLal Sharma, Ex-Minister Mula Ram when he filed the papers. Shouting slogans in his support, people were waving Congress party flags to greet Balwan. Thousands of Congress workers and supporters thronged the streets to catch a glimpse of the party's candidate Balwan Singh, who began his road show here before filing nomination papers for Assembly polls. The Congress also went for a massive show of strength in the constituency where the party candidate filed his nomination papers. Addressing the rally in Marh ,Balwan sought the votes of the people and said only the Congress could ensure equitable and balanced development in all regions and sub-regions of the state. "Only the Congress can ensure continuity in the ongoing development activities in backward regions." He reminded people of Marh of the work done by the governments from 2002 onwards, particularly by Azad government from 2005 to 2008. |
