JAMMU, Nov 27: "Only silence is great; all else is weakness", the proverb seems to be apt on Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) which has replied to a query of an RTI that only 20 police personnel are unfit in Jammu and Kashmir police, Jammu province as per the Body Mass Index (BMI) system of measuring fitness otherwise 'un' fitness of JKP personnel is an open secret.
The RTI was filed by this scribe seeking details of total police officer/official unfit according to the BMI system of measurement. The reply provided by the Public Information Officer (PIO), Zonal Police Headquarter Jammu (ZPHQ) reads that only 3 police personnel are unfit in Samba District whereas 17 police personnel are unfit in Jammu province and the report is nil as far as the unfit police personnel in other district of Jammu province is concerned.
With one Inspector and two ASIs, the police personnel who are unfit as per BMI in Samba are Inspector Sanjeev Gandotra PID Number EXJ-006540, ASI Shamsher Singh PID Number EXJ-785829 and ASI Girdhari Lal PID Number EXJ-795478.
With only one SI, two ASIs, 6 Head Constables, 3 Selection Grades, 5 Constables in the list, the police personnel unfit according to BMI in Jammu district are SI Uttam Chand PID Number EXJ-785830, ASI Gopal Dass PID Number EXJ-795486, ASI Suresh Kumar of P/S Janipur, Head Constable (HC) Parshotam Chand Number 1844/J, Head Constable Joginder Kumar Number 1926/J, HC Gharu Ram Number 775/J, HC Amrik Singh Number 03/J, HC Madan Lal Number 965/J, HC Narinder Singh 1134/J, Selection Grade Constable (Sg.
