MA Stadium in shambles, courtesy ERA 11/29/2014 12:09:30 AM Mohd Irfan Early Times Report jammu, Nov 28 : Sports activities have been worst hit at M A Stadium here following its digging by ERA (Economic Reconstruction Agency) for laying sewerage pipes. Not only the sports persons, those living in stadium quarters are also faced with a lot of inconvenience. ERA has dug up the whole stadium and large piles of earth can be seen everywhere inside the sports complex, obstructing the free movement of people. There is strong resentment against ERA for causing delay in the completion of the work. ERA is already under severe criticism for its unplanned digging in Jammu and its suburbs. Sunita Sharma regretted that ERA had been slow in completing its works. One of the officials wishing anonymity said, "We are also fed up with the mismanagement of ERA as they are least bothered about the hardships being faced by the people, especially children." Sources said though the locals had made several representations to the ERA authorities, nothing had been done so far to complete the work despite assurances by them. An ERA official said there was shortage of funds due to which they were unable to continue the work. "Once we get the funds, we will start the work," he added.
