BJP rebel asks people to press NOTA | Campaigns against Jugal Kishore's brother in Nagrota | | K Koushal Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 13: Terming BJP a party of 'crooks', disgruntled party leader, Pawan Gupta, sidelined by Bharatiya Janta Party, has resorted to anti-BJP campaigning in Nagrota constituency and is asking people to elect a candidate of clean image otherwise press None of The Above (NOTA). The BJP insiders said, Pawan Gupta, raised the banner of revolt after the BJP State President and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma handed over the party mandate from Udhampur constituency to a new face and a Brahmin candidate Pawan Khajuria. Sources said Pawn Gupta by running an anti-BJP campaign in Nagrota is trying his best to cut the votes of Nand Kishore Sharma, brother of the BJP state president. He is indirectly working for the National Conference
Provincial President Devender Singh Rana, who is contesting from Nagrota. A few days back, Pawan Gupta and Baldev Raj Sharma, incumbent MLA Reasi ,were allegedly made scapegoat by BJP State President Jugal Kishore Sharma and were expelled from the basic membership of the party though they were not only leaders in the party who decided to contest elections independently or with any other political party. "It was the only reason that both Pawan Gupta and Baldev Raj Sharma campaigned for each other in their respective constituencies and now Pawan Gupta has launched a massive campaign against Nand Kishore Sharma and wants to see him defeated," sources added. Pawan Gupta while talking to Early Times said: "Both Jugal and Nand Kishore have criminal back ground and are hampering investigations of a criminal case pending against due to their influence. I am not in favour of a particular candidate but am creating awareness among the masses to elect a candidate of clean image or press NOTA." |
