LPU students won Videocon Telecom ‘Young Manch-2’ grand finale

Jalandhar, Dec 17: Lovely Professional University students have won the Videocon ‘YOUNG MANCH- 2’ Grand Finale held at Indra-dhanush Theatre Panchkula. The dancing group of the university, OMG has bagged first cash prize of Rs. 30,000 and trophy in Group Dance category. Sixteen teams had revealed their worth to claim the trophy in group dancing. Videocon officials handed over the cash prize and trophy to LPU students. The program witnessed a record participation from over 11,000 students in different categories. Massive competitive program concluded with 148 talent hunt events, 10 city finales and finally Grand Finale. The finalists from various institutes had competed in the city finales to further compete in the grand finale for final winning.
Director and CEO, Videocon Telecom Arvind Bali holds: “Through ‘Young Manch’ our intent is to create a strong connection with the youth segment and the young at heart. ‘Young Manch’ will be an ongoing event and will be running every year.” As per Videocon reports, ‘Young Manch’ conceptualizes and rolls out with the intention to capture excitement and aspirations of the youth. Owing to the success of the last year program, the season 2 of the initiative this year was rolled out with events done across 148 educational institutes in 51 cities of Punjab and Haryana.
Congratulating the winning team of the university students, LPU Pro Chancellor Rashmi Mittal said: “We are happy to see that our students are bringing glory to the university from diverse fields. Be it the domain of cultural activities, technology events, researches, management skills or sports feats, our students can be seen with laurels in their hands. We want our students to prove their worth as that of an all-rounder. The time is for the worship of ‘Masters of all trades’.”
Finalists from institutes further competed in 10 city finales, and were adjudged by an esteemed panel of judges including celebrities from show business. Finalists were picked up through a combination of maximum likes on social networking sites and SMS voting, thus becoming unanimous audience choice. The best from the City finales finally competed in the Mega Grand finale at Panchkula. At last, the winners were selected through a powerful on ground event and social media voting platforms including Facebook and YouTube.
