Kadfeen corners Omar | Says Azad's era was golden period in JK history | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 17: The Congress leader Kadfeen Choudary on Wednesday came down heavily upon chief minister Omar Abdullah for blaming former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for fueling communal hatred and regional frenzy in the state in 2008. In a statement here Kadfeen said, "Omar's statement is synonymous to pot calling the kettle black." "Ghulam Nabi Azad has emerged as the tallest leader of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and the statement of Omar deserves condemnation at all levels." "Omar must not put his foot in mouth as the people of Jammu and Kashmir still hail and remember the golden tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad as the chief minister of the state. Omar's government witnessed worst corruption. It was Azad who strived to eradicate the menace from Jammu and Kashmir," he claimed. "Omar's regime was marred with uncertainties while as it was Azad who ensured the winds of peace in the state. Azad paved way for the overall development of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and it is his tenure that will be remembered by the people for times to come. People want those prosperous times once again and that was the only reason that masses voted out NC from every corner of the state of Jammu and Kashmir," Kadfeen said. He added that Congress has the face in Jammu and Kashmir and that is Azad. "We are proud to have Azad as our leader. We will continue to strive for the rights of people under his leadership. The time is not far when the state would again witness the era of peace, stability and prosperity." |
