Sanskrit Scholars hails historical verdict of Supreme Court | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 17: Shri Kailakh jyotish and Vedic sansthan trust register welcomed the historical decision of Supreme Court and the efforts made by the center govt. in preserving and promoting our cultural heritage and the Sanskrit language. According to press release, the SC ratified reintroduction of Sanskrit as a third language for K V students in Classes 6-8 in the middle of the academic year. On the occasion, the trust passes words of thanks to the verdict of SC in the favor of Sanskrit scholars and various other people supporting the promotion and preservation of mother language and organizes a debate function on the upliftment of Sanskrit language among the young generation. Various Hindu and Muslim communities along with the Sanskrit scholars and teachers welcome this historical verdict. The study of Sanskrit in terms of both quantity and quality has suffered immense deterioration during the 20th century. It is quite likely that after the 2010 we will not be able to retain or protect this vast heritage, which was ours for thousands of years. Methods of education adopted during 20th century were not at all conducive to propagation of Sanskrit. |
