Pir Panjal Knight Premier League-2014 concludes with exciting finish | | | Early Times Report
Reasi, Dec 18: Finally the week long cricketing and Kho-Kho extravaganza, Pir Panjal Knight Premier League-2014 came to an exciting finish in a spectacular manner with Cricket Team Reasi Royal and Kho-Kho Team Reasi Nightingales lifting the Winner’s Trophy in a grand style at Zorawar Singh Memorial Stadium, Reasi which was attended by large number of Army and civil dignitaries. The tournament witnessed an overwhelming response and was a crowd puller for the last one week. The umpires and officials did an outstanding job by ensuring fair play throughout the tournament. Final match of Cricket was played between team Romeo Rockets and team Reasi Royals, which was won by Reasi Royals team with five wickets and Kho-Kho match was played between team Rajouri Eves and team Reasi Nightingales which was won by Reasi Nightingales team with 12 points. The players were rewarded for their brilliant performance. Ankush Sharma from team Reasi Royals was given Man of the Series in the Cricket Tournament while Saddam Hussain was given the title of Best bowler from team Romeo Rockets, Arjun Singh Best batsman from team Reasi Royals, Sonia Shah Best Kho-Kho player from team Rajouri Eves and Chandra kala was given title of the Most promising Kho-Kho player from team Reasi Nightingales. The riveting final matches were interlude by a scintillating Band display by Army Bands which sent the spectators into ruptures. The ‘Jan Jagran Manch’ from Kalakote presented a thought provoking skit on the theme “SWATCH BHARAT ABHIYAN” which surely would have left indelible impressions on the hundreds of young minds which witnessed it on 18 December 2014 at Zorawar Singh Memorial Stadium, Reasi. Lieutenant General KH Singh, General Officer Commanding 16 Corps was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Chief Guest gave away the glittering trophies to the winners and runners up of the tournament and also the individual prizes. He alongwith the other dignitaries interacted with the participating boys & girls over a cup of tea, motivating them to pursue sports for health and fitness before bidding them adieu. |
