| PDP set to form Government in J&K: Rangil Singh | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 18: Acknowledging that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the only most suitable native political party for Jammu and Kashmir State the voters came out in a record number during first four phases to make a democratic change least caring for chilly weather and nefarious designs of separatists.
Interacting with media here today, the spokesperson of PDP and the former minister Rangil Singh said that the people especially the youth have become matured enough in electing their representatives. Referring to the final and fifth phase of polling in 20 constituencies of Jammu, Kathua and Rajouri districts, Mr Singh said that PDP has already chalked out Legislative framework for empowering the minority communities in the state. He added that the party has made special emphasis to bring Sikh community under Minority Act.
Eulogising the people connected with transport sector for their active participation in the development process, Rangil Singh said that about 90 percent of the sector is under private entrepreneurship. He added that PDP is well aware of the problems of transporters and is fully determined to safeguard their interests under Special Transport Policy.
The party spokesperson said that all the ethnic minorities have been ensured equitable development in all the sectors. Referring to the plight of refugees, Mr. Singh apprised that PDP has already slated one time settlement of their pending issues. He expressed concern over neglect of Punjabi language by the previous governments and assured that PDP has paid special attention to make Punjabi an optional subject in all the schools. He disclosed that proper arrangements have already been made to establish Punjabi Chairs in both the Jammu and Kashmir Universities.
Rangil Singh added that due to its mature and people friendly vision, PDP has emerged as more popular among the masses and has now become sure that it will get an opportunity to serve the people of the state. The people had already seen the governance of PDP during 2002-2005 and so they are bringing it in power again, he added. During this period Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University was established, Mughal Road was constructed, Poonch-Rawlakot road opened and equally of opportunity assured to al the regions and sub regions of the state.
The spokesman made an earnest appeal to the people of Jammu, Kathua and Rajouri to come out in large numbers abd practice their franchise to make PDP able for rendering selfless service to all sections of society. |
