Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 19 : Exuding confidence of a victory in the ongoing Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday said that the results will spring a surprise, proving wrong all assessments made by political pundits.
"The results will be surprising and all the assessment made by so called political pundits and psephologists will prove to be wrong," Azad said tonight.
"People of the state in all the regions have shown immense faith in Congress in the first four phases and it is going to emerge as a strong force in the state," he said.
Azad said that no government will form the government in the state without the participation of Congress.
Asserting that BJP stands fully exposed before the people of the state, especially Jammu, Azad said that its language and tone kept changing from one region to another region, and its stand on issues like Article 370, rehabilitation of refugees has taken lid off its double speak and gimmickry. Asserting that Congress due to its harmonising agenda and acceptability in the regions and sub regions of the state has regained the political space in the state, Azad said he was confident about Congress?s success in the Assembly elections.
He further said that the results will be surprising and all the assessment made by so called political pundits and psephologists will prove to be wrong. Castigating BJP leadership for its tall talk on ceasefire violation, Azad said that since the formation of NDA government at the Centre, violations have become a regular feature on the border, affecting people there.
He further said while the BJP government has miserably failed to put a halt to ceasefire violations, UPA Government's 10 year rule brought huge respite to the border residents in terms of peace and tranquility. "Life of residents on the border becomes miserable and BJP Government is busy in shawl, Saree and mango diplomacy with Pakistan," said Azad.
Azad said that all the other political parties divide and polarise, Congress stands for unity and progress.
He further said that the Congress-led government from 2006 to 2008 set an example by making good governance and equitable development as the key agenda of the government.
"All other political parties believe in hollow promises and divisive agenda, whereas Congress-led government makes progress and development of all the regions of the state its prime agenda," said Azad. Express confident that people will give chance to the Congress Party to lead the government in the State, Azad said that this will revive the slowly moving developmental process and brighten the future of the youth of the state.
Azad said that we will promote the agenda of development and good governance with full vigor as was witnessed from 2006 to 2008. We will ensure empowerment of all the regions and take all steps to remove inter-regional disparities in the allocation of resources, he said.
