DC Kishtwar reviews preparedness for 'counting process'

Kishtwar, Dec 20: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan today chaired the public cum law and order meeting at new DC Office Complex Kishtwar wherein he discussed security measures and other initiatives undertaken to maintain law and order around counting venues in district on December 23. The meeting was also attended by SP Kishtwar Youghal Manhas, CISF, CRPF commandment and other officials of District administration were also present.
While chairing the meeting, the DC Kishtwar hailed the role of civil society, representatives of various political parties and people for their cooperation in conducting free and fair and incident free Assembly election in the District Kishtwar and also sought the suggestion/steps need to be taken for maintaining law and order during and after poll results on December 23.SP Kishtwar Youghal Manhas said that the security forces are well prepared to tackle any law and order situation, added that extra security forces has started arriving at Kishtwar for further strengthening of the security grid in the District during and after declaration of the result. Among the prominent who attended today's meeting include Retd DC Khurshid Ahmed Butt, Syed Ahmad Shah District President BJP Muslim Morcha, Shabir Ahmed Kamal of NC, PDP Spokesperson Noor Hussain Malik, NCP Candidate Ajaiz Hussain Naik, Suresh Sharma of PDP, Lalit Kumar of BJP, Mansoor Ahmed Mattoo of Congress, Ajaiz Hussain Keen of BJP, Independent Candidate Farooq Ahanger, Sameer Ganie, Ashraf Hussain, Ram Sevak, Saleem Waza and others. The participants assured the administration for their full cooperation in ensuing to maintain peace in the District in coming days.
All the participants also observed two minutes silence to pray for the victims of Peshawar terror attack.Later DC Kishtwar held a separate meeting with police and sector magistrate and issued necessary directions to them with regard to maintain law and order in the District Kishtwar. DC Kishtwar also take first hand appraisal regarding the preparation of counting of votes, randomization of counting staff was held for both Assembly segments of district Kishtwar. It was further revealed by the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar that all necessary arrangements have been put in place at the counting venue, Kendriya Vidyala Kishtwar. The counting will begin at 8 a.m. on December 23, simultaneously at both Assembly segments and necessary pass has also been issued to counting agents and other staff members engaged for counting duty. He said that special Media Centre has also been established at the venue.
