Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 21: What can be more injustice with hapless displaced employees from Kashmir Valley than this that they are deprived of the leave salary benefits at the time of retirement.
Unlike other in-service employees of the State Government the displaced employees are deprived of cash in leave benefits at the time of retirement. This way every displaced employee is deprived of a minimum benefit of Rs five lakh on retirement.
Despite approaching every quarter the State Government failed to give justice to hapless employees from Valley. The migrant employees during last 25 years of their displacement have approached every quarter with the plea to settle the issue but to no avail.
Alleging denial of leave in cash benefits is a total injustice with them the displaced employees have made an appeal to State Government urging it to look into the issue so that they are not deprived of their due.
Terming the denial of cash in leave a deliberate attempt of those at the helm of affairs to deprive the displaced employees of their due service benefits. Hundreds of displaced employees who retired over the last 25 years have been deprived of this benefit despite the fact that they have not left the homes and hearths in Valley at their own but were forced to flee after the Government failed to protect them and their property.
The displaced employees have made an appeal to the Government once gain to look into the problem on the humanitarian basis and provide justice to migrant employees.
The employees say that it they are in active service and it was the Government which failed to adjust them.
The Government summons the displaced employees for all emergency services like census, polling duty, framing of Adhar cards etc hence there is no logic in denying them the benefits of cash in leave on retirement, they added.
A delegation of displaced employees also called on Minister of State in PMO with Independent Charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh and apprised him of the issue. Dr Singh however assured the delegation that he will take up the issue with State Government so that the issue is settled and the displaced employees are given justice.
