J&K Polls: Re-polling in Jammu West ends, 598 votes polled | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 22: As many as 598 votes were polled in one of the polling stations where re-polling was held in Jammu West Assembly Segment here today. The Election Commission had ordered re-polling at one of the polling stations in Jammu West Constituency after a technical snag was detected in one of the Electronic Voting Machines during the last phase polling. "Out of total 1059, 598 votes were polled during re-polling at polling station number 147 set up at S D Sabha Higher Secondary School, Rehari," an official here said. He said that due to occurrence of technical snag re-polling was ordered by the Election Commission authorities. "As it was a working day, 300 votes were polled in the first three hours," they said adding that 301 men and 297 women voters cast their vote. Meanwhile, tight security arrangements were made outside the polling station to avoid any untoward like incident. |
