JAMMU, Jan 25: The 12-member shooting contingent of the state shall be leaving for Thiruvanthapuram in Kerela to take part in the upcoming 35th National Games slated to be held from January 31, here tomorrow.
The 12-member team, including two officials, was selected by the J&K Rifle Association (JKRA) under the aegis of J&K Olympic Association (JKOA). Earlier the players underwent a screening test conducted by the State Sports Council today.
Soon after the final selection, the members of the team were encouraged by the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Ajit Kumar Sahu, who was special guest on the occasion.
Also present were general secretary of the JKOA, Ashutosh Sharma, senior vice president of JKRA, Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, Chief Sports Officer of State Sports Council, Abdul Qayoom, Sonam Soni, Sharat Chander, Rajan Sharma, SS Gill, Kuldeep Handoo and international fencer and member screening committee, Rashid Ahmed. |
