Inter-college cricket tourney of JU
MAM College, GMC win ties

JAMMU, Jan 27: Government MAM College and Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu won their respective matches to move into the next round of the ongoing annual inter-college (men's) cricket tournament under the banner of Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu on the campus ground, here today.
In the first match of the day, MAM College defeated Government Degree College (GDC) Mendhar by six wickets. Batting first, GDC Mendhar bowled out for 97 runs in given 20 overs, which, in reply, MAM College chased in 18.3 overs with six wickets in hand.
Imran remained top scorer with 29 runs while Umar and Nazir contributed 22 and 11 runs respectively. From MAM College, Sukhbeer Singh and Sidhant shared two wickets each.
Later, MAM College chased the total making 101 runs for four wickets, sparing 1.3 overs of their innings. Tushar played fine innings of 19-ball 23 runs hitting five boundaries while Nilesh and Tejeshwar Singh added 22 runs each. Muzzamil contributed valuable 17 runs to the team's total. Atif remained most successful bowler, who took two wickets.
Meanwhile, in another match of the day, GMC Jammu registered a big 47 runs win against GDC Kathua. Earlier, GMC won the toss and decided to bat first. They made 114 runs for eight wickets in 16 overs game.
Navjeet (25), Nasir (17) and Sawan (18) were top scorers. From Kathua, Akshdeep took two wickets, followed by Karan and Satnam, who shared apiece each.
Later, GDC Kathua could not perform well and could make 67 runs for nine wickets in allotted 16 overs. Rahul and Satnam made highest 15 and 14 runs respectively. From GMC Jammu, Sawan took three wickets while Mukhtyar bagged two.
Today's matches officiated by Saleem ur Rehman, Suresh Singh and Raj Kumar as umpires while Manu Khajuria was scorer.
NEXT MATCH: GDC Poonch shall take on MIET while GGM Science College shall face PG (Arts) tomorrow.
