Various educational institutions celebrate Republic Day

Jammu, Jan 27: Various educational institutions celebrated 66th Republic Day with patriotic fervour and zeal.
The Republic Day was celebrated at Higher Secondary School Jangalwar with enthusiasm and gaiety in which Rajesh Thakur, Tehsildar Phagsoo unfurled the national flag.
A number of schools of the areas presented cultural items which were witnessed by thousands of people. Commanding Officer (CO) 8-RR was Guest of Honor on the occasion who donated four computers along with others accessories and furniture for the students of HSS Jangalwar with aim to impart education on modern lines. Principal HSS Jangalwar Mohammad Shafi Rishi extended vote of thanks to the participants and public of the areas and expressed hope to keep up same spirit in near future besides he also highlighted the value of computer education. Teacher Mohamad Ashraf conducted the proceedings of the programme.
The 66th Republic Day was celebrated at Government Boys High School Thathri in which Ab Qayoom Mir SDM Thathri unfurled the national flag at 10:00 am sharp with enthusiasm and gaiety. A number of schools of the areas presented their cultural shows which was witnessed by more than two thousand people. A number of Government and Private Schools presented cultural shows which attracted the audience. Qayoom in his welcome address highlighted the sacrifices of our great leaders for freedom and their endeavour for making our India a republic and also urged upon the participants and inhabitants to remain united for the betterment of area and country.
Government High School, Bhaga, Reasi celebrated Republic Day. The Head Master of the School, Rafiq Mohammad hoisted the National Flag in which Dr. Surinder Singh Retd. ZEO and Munshi Ram Sarpanch of Panchayat Bhaga was the guest of honor on the occasion.
Cultural items were presented by the students which were highly appreciated by the people. Some other schools came all way to Govt. High School, Bhaga to participate in the Republic Day Celebrations and presented lot of cultural items. The participating schools included Govt. Middle School, Saldi, Government Primary School, Simbal Choa.
Government Degree College for Boys Anantnag celebrated Republic Day with full fervor and gaiety. Deputy Commissioner Tasaduq Jeelani hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the march past. The Deputy Commissioner congratulated the people and appealed them to maintain brotherhood, amity and communal harmony, prerequisite for prosperity and development.
A march past was presented by J&K Police, CRPF, JKAP, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC Cadets and students of various schools. Scintillating cultural programmes were presented by school children and artists of Department of Information. Among others, senior officers of Police and Civil administration were present on the occasion.
Similar functions were also held at all Tehsil headquarters of the district where respective Tehsildars unfurled the National flag and took salute at the march past. At Pahalgam, the tricolour was unfurled by Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mohammad Aslam who took salute at the march past on the occasion.
The Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu, Prof. Devanand unfurled the National Flag on the Republic Day of the country for the first time at its own campus site at Bagla (District Samba) today.
The University started functioning here from 15th January with the shifting of the administrative staff to the campus.
The academic departments are likely to shift very soon in a phased manner as the work on infrastructure development is going on at a very fast pace.
The flag hoisting ceremony was attended by the University Registrar, Jit Singh, Sub Divisional Police Officer, S.S. Sambyal, Senior Consultant, Dr. P.S. Pathania, Academic Administrator, Prof. Depak Raj Gupta, Dean Students'Welfare, Prof. N.R. Sharma, Deans of various schools, Officers of the University, Heads of the Departments, faculty, supporting staff, and students. The Security Director, Security In charge of the University, and Protocol Officer were also present on the occasion.
Government Degree College Budhal participated enthusiastically in the main Republic Day Function which was held at premises. Students of the college presented three cultural items in the programme including Kalam-E-Iqbal, Patriotic Song and one Gazal. These items got lot of appreciations and cash prize from the Audience. Principal of the College Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Raina congratulated the students for their fine performance and hoped for more crowns to the college in the days to come.
Jammu and Kashmir Samaj Kalyan Kendra Higher Secondary School for Hearing & Speech Handicapped Boys & Girls celebrated Republic Day in the School premises with great enthusiasm and gaiety. The students, teaching faculty and a good number of parents attended the function, besides some life members and members of Kendra Management Body. J.K.Vaid, General Secretary, hoisted the National Flag and led the assembly in the National Anthem Jana Gana Mana sung in unison with full vigour. This was followed by a short address to the gathering by him, congratulating all on the Republic Day. The celebrations culminated with distribution of sweets.
Republic Day of India was celebrated at She-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu ( SKUAST-J) with a great deal of patriotic zeal and fervour. The day began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. Pradeep K. Sharma, Vice Chancellor from the ramparts of the university followed by the National Anthem. The statutory officers, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff and students of the university present on the occasion saluted the National Flag. Vice Chancellor in his Republic Day address invoked the SKUAST family to dedicate their collective might for the development of the university in achieving greater heights in research, teaching and extension for the betterment of the scientific knowledge base that shall contribute to the quality education and farming.
Modern Secular Institute of Education High School Laxmipuram, Chinore Jammu celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm in school premises on 26-01-2015.
The Managing Director of the Institute K.K.Rao along with M.K Bhan Vice Principal, unfurled the national flag in presence of Students and faculty members. Rao recalled the contribution of great freedom fighters that sacrificed their lives and fought selflessly to free their motherland from British slavery. He exhorted the students to imbibe in themselves the selfless leadership qualities as the students of today are the citizens of tomorrow.
The need of the hour is to encourage moral and patriotic valves among the young generation who are the leaders of the tomorrow.
To mark the celebration of Republic Day, a collegiate debate competition on the topic ''Is reformation required in the Constitution of India?'' was organized at Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET). Faculty members, staff and the students participated in the event. In a keenly contested debate, Pragti Jamwal, student of CSE, 3rd Semester bagged the 1st position, Savitoj Singh, Civil Engg. 3rd Semester got the 2nd and Waleed Saif and Karan Pratap Singh jointly shared the 3rd position.
In connection with celebration of 66th Republic Day a function was organized at Government Polytechnic for Women Jammu where Principal of the College hoisted the National flag. Students and staff members participated in the function and presented a colourful cultural programmes on the occasion.
Republic Day 2015 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal in Govt. S.R.M.L HSS. Principal J S Manhas hoisted the National Flag and delivered a lecture on the national spirit among the students and staff. School Band played National Anthem and students took part in March past. Function culminated with the distribution of sweets among the students and staff.
The central leadership of the FORUM appealed all the teaching aternity to participate in the Protest Demonstration to make it a grand Lccess.
The 66th Republic Day was celebrated in Kathua with great zeal, fervor and gaiety, in the premises of Vivekananda College of Education, Lakhanpur Kathua.
Prof. Keshav Sharma, Controller of Education, University of Jammu was the chief guest and hoisted the national flag where he also took salute at the parade. The contingents drawn from Vivekananda College of Education and Vivekananda Public Model School, N.S.S. Volunteers took besides pipers/ bands took part in the parade. Students present Cultural items like Qawali, Rajanstani dance, Punjabi & Dogri dances aimed to emphasize the importance of the constitution and the relevance of the day.
Portrait of Vivekananda was presented to the Chief Guest on behalf of Vivekananda Family as a token of respect. . Presenting Vote of thanks Dr. Anju Sharma said that 'the Republic Day of India can be considered as a people's day.
Republic day celebrated at Government Boys and Girls Middle at New Plot by hoisting the national flag. On the occasion, Dham Bhasin and Vinod Sharma was chief guest in the presence of Mohalla Sudhar Committee, Principal and other staff members of the School.
66th Republic Day has been celebrated at Vijaypur Higher Secondary School. Rajneesh Gupta, SDM, Vijaypur has hosted the flag. Dev Anand, Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School, Vijaypur preside over the function. The students of Govt. Higher School, Vijaypur, Govt. Middle Vijaypur have presented the cultural programme.
Ranjeesh Gupta SDM has distributed the prize among the prestigious students. Rajneesh Gupta addressed the student and highlighted the scarification and achievements of leaders who have fought for the democracy and freed the India from slavery of British Rulers. He requested the people to maintain brotherhood among them and follow the footprints of our great leaders who have sacrificed their lives. Dev Anand thanked the people, students and dignitaries who participated the occasion.
