As teachers gossip, students work like labourers 1/28/2015 10:49:36 PM Arun Trisal Early Times Report Chann Lal Din & Hiranagar, Jan 28: Teachers in Government Middle School, Chann Lal Din, Zone Marheen were busy in gossip, when a media team entered the school in response to complaints received by villagers about the mal-functioning of the school. The media team saw students carrying chairs, tables, glasses of water and other equipments being used for other purposes. How can a country develop whose teachers do not feel their responsibility towards children? Huge amount has been paid to the teachers but they do not realize their responsibilities and play with the future of the children. The village falling along International border where it's difficult for people to survive under the shadow of frequent cross border shelling. The students used to move in safe places in emergency that affected their schooling. Despite having the knowledge of sufferings of the students, teachers busy in gossip and personal affairs during working hours. If national builders do not work properly, how can a country develop? How can these students cope with the students who are enrolled in private schools? Rachchpal Singh, Headmaster of the school, tried to hide the Mal-functioning of his staff and said the school runs without proper staff. He said various posts are lying vacant and it's difficult for teachers to attend all the periods of 40 minutes in a day. He accepted deficiency of man-powers in the school and informed that the matter has been discussed to the CEO Kathua who ensured to provide more staff after new recruitment. It is mandatory to mention here that if JKSSB takes time to release new selection list of Teachers, will the school run in worse condition? The Chief Education Officer Kathua, he ensured to inquiry the negligence of school staff through Zonal Education Officer, Marheen.
