Family alleges murder as Police await Post mortem report

BARAMULLA, Jan 28: The family members of a youth, who was found dead in Sopore earlier this month, Wednesday staged a protest alleging that the 19-year-old had been murdered by unknown persons.
A youth namely Umer Ishaq Mir 22, son of Mohammad Ishaq Mir of Nowpora Tujjer Sopore was found dead on Jan 4. "If they could be brought in front of me, I can identify them to whom I doubt they were involved into the murder of my brother", said Sufiya Jan, sister of the deceased.
Talikng to Early Times Sufiya said, "earlier this month on Jan 03, first time I had seen these three unknown persons on motorcycle in our Muqdam mohalla at around 2 pm, these persons were looking towards me suspiciously; as soon as I tried to approach them they drove their bikes fast and left the place in no time." "At 5 pm on Jan 03 these three boys wearing black Pherans were again seen near our house, my paternal aunt narrated the whole incident to me as I had seen them in a day time" Sufiya recalled further.
She added and said that as usual her brother went outside after evening prayers and didn't return home till 7 pm, however after which family searched for him till 11 O,clock in the evening.
On Jan 04 the dead body of the deceased was found at 07:30 am in the morning, which had injuries on the head and thighs of the deceased were found, She said.
"I assure you if those persons between age group of 20-25 were brought before of me, I can recognize them' She said questioning why Police were not investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, a senior police official told Early Times that, they were investigating into the case. " let the FSL and Post-mortem report come first and only than we can reach some conclusion" he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that on Jan 4, Umer Ishaq son of Mohammad Ishaq Mir (village headman) was found dead in Tujjer area of Sopore town in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
