HC directs respondents to take interview of petitioner for JE's post | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 29 (JNF): In a petition filed by one Kunal Sharma seeking permission to sit in the interview, Vacation Judge of J&K High Court Justice Janak Raj Kotwal directed respondents shall conduct the interview (viva voce) of the petitioner, which , however, shall not confer any right to selection on him. After hearing Adv Rahil Raja appearing for the petitioner, Court observed that the petitioner grievance is that as against 72 posts of Junior Engineers (JEs) advertised vide notification NO 03 of 2012 dtd December 28, 2012, respondents have short listed 310 candidates for viva voce on the basis of written examination though 360 candidates at the ratio of 1:5 should have been called as the J&K Civil Services Decentralization and Recruitment Rules 2010. Court further observed that petitioners is that he would have qualified for viva voce had the short listing being done at the ratio of 1:5 as provided under the said rules. Vacation Judge of J&K High Court Jammu Wing Justice Janak Raj Kotwal issued notice to the state and ors and directed to the list this matter after service is complete and meanwhile ordered that subject to objections, respondents shall conduct the interview (viva voce) of the petitioner, which , however, shall not confer any right to selection on him. |
