"Save the Girl Child" awareness programme held

Reasi, Jan 29: Continuing its efforts to aware the masses about various social issues an awareness program on "Save the Girl Child" was organized by district Information Center, Reasi at Government High School, Sirla Bhaga.
According to press release, a short cultural program highlighting the need to save the girl child was presented by the artists and a film show on 'save the girl child' was screened by the Information Department to highlight the importance of generating awareness among the masses regarding the negative social impact of declining sex ratio. Later on a symposium was also held on this occasion and as many as 10 participants of the host school deliberated upon the topic and expressed their concern over the declining sex ratio.
Speaking at the occasion Principal Romesh Chander Sharma highlighted the need to save the Girl Child from sexual assault, traffickers, vulgar harassments, and stated that it is the duty of everyone, including the man and boys to protect the Girl Child. He appreciated information department for organizing such programs.
DIO-Parvinder Kour while addressing the gathering said that "Save the Girl Child" awareness needs to be introduced in each and every village and the message that girl child is precious need to be propagated widely.
Principal GHS kotli Bhagha-Gopal Krishan, Headmaster Middle School Kanjli-Ganesh , ZEO-Munshi Ram, panches, staff and students of school and a large number of local people were present on the occasion. Prizes were distributed among winners of symposium by information department Reasi.
