Locals protest over alleged flow of 'waste water from DPL' to locality

rajouri, Jan 30: Inhabitants of W-4 held a mass protest against the district police authorities in front of offices of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Deputy Commissioner, (DC) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) alleging that the waste water and garbage from DPL complex flow towards their locality creating inconvenience to the inhabitants as well as to commuters.
A low lying area W- 4 of Rajouri is situated in the vicinity of DPL and all the waste water and garbage coming from DPL and its adjoining areas passes through this ward before falling in the local river.
Protesters led by Badri Nath former ward member alongwoth Sanjeev and Mohit alleged that the matter has been taken up with the senior police officer including SSP several times but the police authorities didn't pay any attention towards the problems being faced by the inhabitants of the ward.
"The whole ward has turned into dumping place for garbage and foul smell is resulting into health problems to the inhabitants of this ward" said Badri Nath. Protestors also accused police authorities of turning a blind eye towards the problems being faced by them.
Protesters warned the police authorities of a large scale protest against police authorities if their problems are nor taken seriously by the concerned authorities.
There after a deputation of protestors called on Sr Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr Haseeb Mughal and apprised him with their issues who after giving a patient hearing assured them to look into the matter.
However on the assurance of SSP people withdrew their protest.
