FMPHWs stage protest, demand early release of pending salaries

Jammu, Jan 30: The Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) working in Health and Family Welfare Department of Jammu Division staged a day long dharna under the Chairmanship of Babli Sharma, Prov.encial President FMPHWs demanding early release of pending salaries for over 10 months and are virtually at the stage of starvation.
The FMPHWs under the banner of Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) drawn from different districts of Jammu Division gathered Directorate of Health Services Jammu and held day long demonstration in support of their demands particularly release of funds under A/C Head 221 I Family Welfare at earliest.
FMPHWs have been holding demonstrations and dharnas for the last two years for release of their salary and permanent solution to this chronic problem. The speakers' alleged that despite various requests, these FMPHWs are still without salary for more than 12 months. Sushil Sudan, President Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation in his address said that FMPHWs are facing acute hardship for want of their salary and have again urged authorities to take remedial steps He also urged the Governor of J&K to come to the rescue of these FMPHWs. The technical staff of SHTO Nagrota led by Surinder Paal Singh, President SHTO Tech Workers Union Nagrota Jammu also joined day long dharna and addressed the rally. As per reports similar protest were also held at Poonch under the chairmanship of S Balbir Singh President /Smt Kiran Kumari President FMPHWs District Poonch and at Rajouri under the Chairmanship of Farooq Mirza, District. President with Smt Kushal Bano and Parveen Akhter leaders of FMPHWs.
Protestors said they have decided to hold another one day dharna on February 14 at Directorate of Health Services (DHS) Complex Jammu in case their salaries are not released. Nancy Bhan. Urmil, Neelam Kumari. Kamla Devi, Rajesh Bala, Mamta Devi, Rekha Rani, Sarso Devi, Nirmal Kour, Geeta Massih. Kuldeep Kour. Swaran Kour, Sarfo Devi, Bharti, Sharda Devi, Rajni Bala, Shoba, Kanta Kumari, Sarita Devi, Champa Devi, Sneh Lata, Rajni . Reeta Kumari, Sudesh. Rani Devi, Babli and others spoke on the occasion.The leaders from JKMEF who addressed protestors included Vinod Kumar Sharma, Ashaq Hussian, Gen Seccy. JKMEF District Doda, Raja Mohi-u-Din, District President, FMPHWs Pulwama Anoup Singh. President Drivers and Cleaners Union (SHTO) Jammu R P Singh, Jarnail Choudhary and others
