RS pura, Jan 31: Expressing concerns over the pitiable condition of 'Tulip Garden in Jammu,' the senior BJP leader and MLA R S Pura, Dr Gagan Bhagat said despite spending whooping amount of Rs 13.57 Crore by the previous government the Jammu's Tulip Garden is in shambles and presents a deserted look to its visitors while the September floods had made things from bad to worst. He said this while visiting Jammu's "Tulip Garden" near Indiranagar R S Pura, and added that the previous coalition government has spend huge amount of Rs 13.57 Crore for development of Tulip garden spread on 563.5 kanals of land.' "Though the money was spent on landscaping, fencing, pathways, maintenance staff hut illumination, drinking water, irrigation water channel and storage reservoirs, parking lots, state-of-art entry gate facilities etc but nothing except wasting the hard earned money of the taxpayers as the ground situation at Jammu's Tulip Garden could be judged from the fact that it presents a gory look and seems to be desert rather than a garden, MLA R S Pura said. Elected MLA Dr Gagan Bhagat said this of approach of the concerned government departments including Floriculture and Flood control will not be tolerated and efforts will be made to develop "Tulip Garden" Jammu as major 'tourist spot'. Prominent among those who accompanied the visiting MLA Dr Gagan Bhagat, included Tehsildaar R S Pura, officials of Floriculture Department, S Amir Singh, S Nirmal Singh and others. |
