Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 31: Jammu and Kashmir National Panther Party chairman Harsh Dev Singh said that plight of border residents deplorable while continued to bleed with a war like situation on the IB and LoC due to persistent firing and mortal shelling by Pak rangers, the Union Government seems to be totally unconcerned engaging itself completely in political battle in the national capital for Delhi Assembly polls.
He further regretted that while the border people were suffering untold miseries, the BJP led government had remained content with issuance of mere statements that BSF had been authorized to give befitting reply to Pakistan. He said that rather than Union Ministers and concerned authorities visiting the affected families and providing the much needed relief and rehabilitation, the Union govt. had chosen to recall all its Ministers to the National capital to participate in Election Campaign.
He deplored that though the BJP led government had deputed 20 Union Ministers, several Chief Ministers and 150 MPs from several states to campaign in Delhi, it had completely neglected the border residents and left them at the mercy of its crook and belligerent neighbor.
Expressing grave concern over the continued shelling and govt's criminal apathy, he called upon the Union and state govt. to accelerate the relief measures and accord priority consideration to address the issue on war footing in view of piquant situation where thousands of families all along the 192 Km IB had been uprooted.
He said that continuous firing and mortar shelling had resulted in large scale migrations, loss of precious lives, extensive damaged caused to livestock, agriculture fields, houses, shops, marriage halls and standing crops.
Harsh Dev Singh said that Pakistan, on external desperation at UNGA and internal political instability within, wants an alibi to engage its restless masses. He said that Pakistan wants to pull back India awed by India's global strides in multifarious fields.
Expressing serious concern over unabated and continued ceasefire violations, he said that it amply demonstrated Pakistan's frustration due to no world support and not even an affirmative semblance from the US.
He said targeting of civilian areas was highly shameful which needed worldwide condemnation. He said that there were further intelligence inputs which revealed that Pakistan was pushing in indoctrinated traitors, hired , lured and trained in the ISI run camps in PoJK.
