Samba-Goran road in shambles, authorities in deep slumber

Samba, Feb 1 : People of Samba to Goran are facing lot of difficulties owing to poor road of the said area. However, the concerned authorities have failed repair the raod.
"A local deity but revered by people across the district is another famous shrine of the region situated at a distance of about 20 Kms from Samba town. Residents of far flung villages situated along this route like Penthi, Dhalote, Sumb, Amli and Behri are facing lot of problems due to the poor road connectivity," sources said. Due to the deplorable condition of roads, the transporters are also facing a lot of loss as their vehicles develop unwanted problems," said Pritam Chand, a local resident. The road has not black topped for the past several years. The road connectivity comes under Road and Building (R&B) Department of Samba but it hardly seems serious about the plight of the people, he added. Ajay Kumar said that the holy Baba Goran Shrine holds religious and great importance for the thousands of people. A heavy rush of the devotees increasing day to day at baba Shivo ji temple situated at Goran village. But broken roads pose the biggest hindrance to the entire tourism potential in the area.
Locals lamented that they have raised the issue with concerned authorities many a times and even have staged protest demanding the black-toping of road but all requests fell to deaf ears till date, said Chet Singh, a local villager.
The road stretch from Samba to Baba Goran Shrine is in utterly bad shape having potholes and streams of boulders and offers a dusty ride. Agitated over callous approach of concerned authorities, the villagers said that concern Department has failed to maintain the road reasons better known to the officials at the helms of affairs.
"It is only the polling time when several of leaders of different parties come to these remote villages and dole false assurances to the people but once they get elected they never turned to them, "Krishan Singh, a local of village Dhalote said.
