Jammu, Feb 1: Around thirty one nursing homes and other clinical establishments have been running illegally in district Rajouri, risking the lives of the people. These include diagnostic laboratories, dental clinics, X ray clinics and nursing homes. As per reports, 17 of them are operating in block Manjakote, 5 in block Sunderbani,6 in block Nowshera,one in block Darhal and two in block Kandi. The matter was brought to the notice of Health Department by Police authorities.
As per reports, based on the complaints against illegal nursing homes and clinical establishments operating in the district Rajouri, Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajouri-Poonch range Ashok Kumar Atri shot a letter No. PA/2014/4612-14 dated 25.8.2014 to Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Rajouri for departmental action. The senior police officer also enclosed the list of the illegal nursing homes and clinical establishments along with the communiqué. A similar letter, No PS/DDCR/2014/4358-61 was also shot to the Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri for perusal and necessary action, but unfortunately, both letters evoked no response.
Further, the plight of the state which was ranked number one in health services in 2012 can be gauged from the fact that despite taking action against illegal nursing homes operating in district Rajouri, the CMO, forwarded the same to the Director Health Services. Sources said even CMO or DC could have taken action but they only passed the buck.
Meanwhile, Director Health Services B.S Pathania when contacted said that the roadmap for the very purpose has been prepared and action is likely soon.
