Include Mandal Commission recommendations in CMP: AIBCU to BJP, PDP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 26: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) today urged upon BJP and PDP to include the recommendation made by Mandal Commission in their common minimum programme (CMP). According to press release, the union said that JK deed Sealed between BJP & PDP; the CMP (Common Minimum Programme) does not mean only to talk about AFSPA and Art 370 but good governance in the state which is not possible without social justice. "Both BJP and PDP especially BJP which all the times raised the issue of Mandal Report during elections both in parliament and Assembly elections but now if the CMP does not include the matter of justice for the state OBCs who have already suffered a lot since 1992 after Apex Court's judgement (about 23 years)", the union said, and added, "Then it will be considered only as a bluffing politics with change in political parties but without "Ism change" in the politics. Till date BJP-PDP have only selected MPs for Rajya Sabha only from the upper caste from BJP, one was from Rajput Community and other from Brahmin Community with a similar repeat by the PDP which also selected both the MPs from Muslim upper castes." The union further said that the selection for MLCs from both BJP and PDP was again a repeat of upper castes from Hindus and Upper castes in Muslims. "Inspite of the appeal made for due representation for the state OBCs whose population in the state is about 60% who have nil representation in the Assembly as well as the Parliament State OBCs doubt over a similar ruling like that of Congress and NC who remained treacherous and cheated the State OBCs for over 67 years", AIBCU said. This was stated by the speakers and participants in a meeting convened by Union's president Abdul Majid Malik in which other prominents who shared their views were HD. Betab, Mohd Kabir Qureshi, Gulam Rasool Nazar, Deepak Pandey, Bodh Raj Dogra, S.Rajinder Singh, HM Sandokh Chand, Pr. Darshan Lal, K.D.
