Jammu, Feb 26: In the backdrop of increasing H1N1 positive cases, 2nd day the medical staff of premier Jammu Government Medical College and Hospital suspended their work to lodge protest against non-availability of Personal Protection Equipments (PPE) including N95 masks for their personal safety. As per reports, protestors alleged that the health department was compromising with the safety of staff by not equipping them with adequate equipments. Health providers are being compelled to purchase the N95 masks on their own to save themselves from H1N1 during duty hours. "The N95 masks are must for the doctors and staff during duty hours in view of increasing number of H1N1 cases in the hospital, " they said and adding "The staff returned to work only after the provided few marks to them by hospital administration," Medical Superintend informed. |
