Secretariat spruced up for new government | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 28 : Civil Secretariat remained abuzz with activities, notwithstanding the fact it was a holiday today. In run up to new Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad led government taking over on Monday, the corridors of civil secretariat were spruced with a plethora of activities throughout the day today , thanks to senior babus who suddenly turned active for making the chambers of their political bosses cozier and comfortable. A visit to Civil Secretariat on Saturday presented a hectic look for a reason: From Chief Secretary to Commissioner Secretaries of various departments down the line, all could be seen busy in giving a facelift to chambers to be occupied by the ministers of new government. Thrust was on the office of Chief Ministers where all officers of Estates Department had converged to refurbish and re decorate it all possible ways. Earlier in the day, Chief Secretary had called a meeting of senior officers to give direction to all concerned to get the things ready in hours before the new government enters the Secretariat premises on Monday. It was an unusual movement seen from all directions and all officers could be seen hurrying into flurry of activities. In some chambers while the new pictures and calenders were hung in a decorative way while in others furniture was replaced by new units. |
