Do separatists plan to rise like phoenix from ashes in Kashmir?

Early Times Report

Jammu,Feb 28: Separatists in the Kashmir valley plan to resurface on the pattern of a phoenix rising from the ashes. And for ensuing their revival in their activities these separatists plan to rake up what they call as an "unholy" alliance between the BJP and the PDP. That the separatists have realized that they were losing relevance in the Kashmir valley is indicated by a recent statement from the JKLF chief,Mohd.Yasin Mailk, who claimed that as a result of machinations from the central Government separatists were not able to secure full response to their call for poll boycott. Those among the nationalists who have read this statement feel delighted over Malik's observation on the plea that for the first time the separatist leader has accepted that people have started listening to the central Government instead of being swayed and swept by the separatists' anti-India campaign. Is Malik right or those who claim that high polling percentage in the Kashmir valley was the outcome of voters' desire to ensure that the BJP did not win even a single seat from the valley's 46 seats ? And when the BJP failed to win even a single seat from the Kashmir valley separatists had claimed that since they had not enforced their poll boycott call and wanted people to participate in the polling the BJP candidates lost miserably. These separatists had apprehensions about Kashmiri Pandit voters' huge participation in the polling turning the tide in favour of two to three BJP candidates in the valley. However, this plan of the BJP failed when the valley registered about 60 per cent polling in the Assembly election. It seems that Malik's assertion does not hold water because people in the Kashmir valley have,in the past, been immune to Government machinations, especially if the central Government tries to launch a campaign motivating people to take part in the process of election.Though separatists have not succeeded in enforcing,to a limited extent, their calls for poll boycott since the 1996 Assembly elections they, still, claimed that poor polling percentage was the result of peoples' support to separatists calls for poll boycott. If separatists had plans of motivating people to cast their votes in order to defeat the BJP why did some separatists, especially the hardliners, campaigned in favour of poll boycott till the polling days ended in the valley ? Answer to this question may place the separatists in a predicament because people walked to the polling booths to vote for change and their vote, even if it resulted in a hung Assembly, was a vote for change.A change, which one had never dreamt of. Vote for change,in which the BJP will be sharing power for the first time in J&K and that too with Kashmir centric PDP,is something new for the state and for its people. Instead of attempting at a phoenix like rise from ashes on the basis of their campaign against BJP-PDP alliance the separatists need to give time to the new political arrangement to show results. If separatists sound the bugle of revolt against the ruling BJP-PDP coalition it would be simply part of their anti-establishment programme. If separatists say that they have launched a campaign against what they call unholy alliance between the secular PDP and the communal BJP why did not these separatists watch like passive spectators political and security related developments during the last 12 years when the state was under the PDP_Congress rule and later under the NC-Congress rule ?
Or should one say that by launching a campaign against the BJP-PDP coalition Government the separatists were simply mounting pressure on the Modi led central Government so that New Delhi resumed t alks with Kashmiri separatists?
