| Oath Ceremony: MLAs Face Shortage of Entry Cards | | | JAMMU, Mar 1 : Newly elected MLAs of both PDP and BJP are facing shortage of entry cards and they are not able to provide cards to all their relatives, friends and well wishers to attend the oath taking ceremony. Sources said that hundreds of people, who have travelled from Srinagar to attend the swearing in ceremony of PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, are wandering for cards.The function is to take place in General Zorawar Singh Auditorium of Jammu University.
Sources said that General Zorawar Singh Auditorium has a capacity of 1300 seats while as administration has allotted 300 entry cards to each of the two coalition partners.
They said 700 cards have been kept reserve for other dignitaries and VVIPs. "Many MLAs have cards for their fathers but their mothers are still waiting for one," sources said adding "it has created a sort of trouble for the newly elected legislatures." Mufti will take oath as the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir for the second time, leading a "historic" alliance with the BJP which will be part of a government in the state for the first time. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the oath ceremony which is scheduled to take place at 11 am. |
