Jammu, Feb 28 : The tall claims of secrecy maintained by Jammu Kashmir Service Selection Recruitment Board (JKSSRB), entrusted with the responsibility of holding recruitment for State, Divisional & District level posts in Jammu and Kashmir, were exposed as the questionpaper circulated by the JKSSRB among the entrance test aspirants in 2013 was allegedly leaked. It was available in the Kishtwar market and its xerox copies were on sale.
As per the details available with "Early Times", JKSSRB for the first time conducted written test in all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir state on 19-09-2013 for several posts including general line teachers, VLWs, MPWs, Lab Assistants and others with eligibility of 10+2.
It was clearly mentioned in the instructions that no candidate would be allowed to carry question paper outside the examination hall after completion of test. The candidates were also not allowed to carry mobile phones inside the examination centres.
The question paper set by the JKSSRB for written text was based on objective type questions and there were 180 questions and all were compulsory to attempt in three hours. The whole question paper was in the form of a booklet with 16 pages.
Despite the fact that JKSSRB didn't allow anyone to carry these booklets with them, it is astonishing that it was available in open market in all the districts of state and that too the scanned copies. Early Times also has a copy of it. While talking to "Early Times", Touseef Iqbal Butt, a M.Phil student, said that he along with his many friends appeared in JKSSRB written text at Kishtwar and were not allowed to carry the question paper with them.
He alleged that to his utter surprise, the same solved question paper which was circulated by the JKSSRB inside examination hall was available in open market. He said that the major surprise was yet to come when the JKSSRB appointed the panel for viva test which include an allegedly tainted officer involved in alleged tempering and hoodwinking of class IV selection list of education department in Kishtwar.
He alleged that less meritorious students had found their names in the selection list, forcing them to approach the high court which had ordered to stay the list advertised vide item No. 488,518 and 377 under notification no , 05 of 2013 and 06 of 2013 .
He said that he and other aspirants several times approached JKSSRB by filling RTI for issuance of question paper copy, but the same was denied on the pretext that the question paper is protected copy and cannot be shared with anyone as per the policy and rules of the JKSSRB.
"I have even filed RTI for seeking the names of in charge examination of written test center appointed by the JKSSRB though education department Kishtwar, but the information has been denied to me till date" said Touseef.
