| Symposium on "Truth and non violence" organized at Kathua | | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, Mar 2 : Department of Higher Education J&K in collaboration with Gandhi Global Family J&K organized a symposium on the topic "Truth and non violence" here in the premises of Government Degree College Kathua.
ACR Kathua Atul Kumar Gupta was the Chief Guest, whereas Addl. SP Kathua Nishar Ahmed was guest of honour and Padam Shree Awardee S.P. Verma was the special guest of honour on the occasion.
Principals of different degree colleges of District Kathua, college staff and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
The Principal GDC Kathua Dr. B.L.Gupta delivered welcomed speech and urged the Youth brigade to promote Truth and Non-violence for prosperity and integrity of the nation.
As many as 15 students from various government degree colleges of district Kathua participated in the symposium and expressed their views on the topic 'Truth and non violence.' While expressing their views they said that Gandhi ji's path of truth and non violence is the need of the hour because it is the only tool to achieve peace and progress in the present scenario.
ACR Kathua encouraged the students that the truth and non violence are hard to practice, but everyone should practice these to have peace and progress in the life.
Vishal Pathania of GDC Kathua bagged 1st position in symposium while 2nd position was secured by Shubham Sharma of GDC Hiranagar whereas Atika Sharma of GDC Kathua secured 3rd position.
Later on, the chief guest along with other guest gave away mementos to the winners of the symposium along with cash awards of Rs 5000/-, Rs3000/-, and Rs 2000/ to the Ist , 2nd and 3rd positions holders of the symposium respectively. |
