Robbers break in J&K Grameen Bank, decamp with cash | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 2 : In a bizzare incident some "hi-tech" burglars broke into J&K Grameen Bank branch at Basspur, R.S Pura situated just a stone's throw away from the naka point in the wee hours of Sunday and decamped with Rs 68000/- cash. A case stands registered in this regard. According to the police sources the Bank robbery incident came to light when officials and staff of the bank came to bank to open the bank on Monday, found the locks of the bank branch thrown opened. "Immediately reported the matter to the police,' sources said while adding that a police team was rushed to spot to collect circumstantial evidences. "Though preliminary investigations by police indicated that robbers after breaking open the locks entered into the bank and with the help of gas wielding broke the safe open and decamped with the cash of Rs 68000/- while other notes contained in the safe locker were burnt into ashes, police sources said. Sources said, "Police team which visited the bank soon after receiving the compliant this morning, hoped to get some leads from CCTV cameras installed on the premises, but to their surprise the same was missing." "Meanwhile a team from forensic science laboratory and a sniffer dog were called in for help but till the filing of this report, they failed to get any vital clue, they added. A senior officer of the police said that police is investigating how bank robbers have managed to cut locks of bank. On the part of bank authorities, he said bank has not installed any CCTV camera from where police to get lead had it been there we would have got some good leads to crack the case. However, police have lodged FIR No 36/2015 in this connection and started investigation, officer maintained. |
