DySP, constable booked for accepting bribe of Rs 2, 20 Lakh

Jammu, Mar 3: State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) registered a case against the then DySP Ramnagar Udhampur and a Constable then reader for their alleged involvement in demanding and accepting Rs 2,20,000/- from the complainant.
Official spokesperson said that verification conducted into allegations revealed that the then DySP Ramnagar District Udhampur Munish Aggarwal and Constable Yudhvir Singh then reader to said DySP had demanded and accepted Rs 2,20,000/- as illegal gratification from the complainant namely Makhan Lal for release of his son involved in a suicide case.
"In this manner, the aforesaid acts of omissions and commission prima facie established offence punishable under section 5(2) J&K P.C Act 2006, Section 161 RPC and accordingly case FIR NO. 10/2015 P/S Vigilance Organisation Jammu has been registered against the accused and investigation were taken up.
