Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 4: Sikkim Amateur Mountaineering Association is organising an All India Open Bouldering Competition from March 31 to April two at Palzor Stadium, Gangtok. The competitions shall be held in only four categories of Men, Women, Boys and Girls as per IFSC rules. Almost all the national and international Indian climbers are expected to compete for the high profile competition which carries a total prize money of Rs 2.12 lakhs. It may be mentioned that bouldering competitions are conducted on short climbing routes called boulders, constructed on purpose designed artificial climbing walls. Since these boulders are climbed without a rope they are designed in such a way, keeping in view the safety of a climber, that the lowest part of the body of a competitor never goes higher than three meters above the landing mat. Climbers interested to participate in the national level competition may contact secretary, Indian Mountaineering Foundation North Zone Committee, Ram Khajuria on Mobile No. 9419196378 for further details. |
