Large number of people, including students stranded in north Kashmir

srinagar, Mar 5: Large number of people, including students who had to appear in the examinations are stranded in Gurez and other cut off areas, particularly near the Lineof Control (LoC) in north Kashmir. Dozens of far flung and remote areas, including those near the LoC, remained cut off with their respective district and tehsil headquarters due to closure of road forthe past about one month due to accumulation of snow. Official sources said a large number of passenger's and students were stranded in these villages, Tehsils and headquarters. Officials said a special arrangement for air lifting the students appearing for 10th and 12th class examinations,staff and other stranded passengers was made today. The air sorties were scheduled to operate between Bandipora and Gurez, and passengers were asked to report atSonawari Helipad, However, due to bad weather the sorties could not operate, they said
