Rajouri, Mar 5: Rotary Club under its ‘Gift of Life’ project have been arranging ‘free heart surgeries’ for economically weak children up to the age of 18 years, suffering from Congenital Heart Diseases (CHDs). “As most of the parents/guardians from below poverty line (BPL) can’t afford high cost of surgery and have no access to quality medical care, Rotary Club, Rajouri in collaboration with Director Health Services (J&K) has decided to organize free congenital heart surgeries for the poor children of the state at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute at New Delhi, said press secretary of the club. Maintaining that Rotary project of love and care is beyond caste, creed, religion, color, race and borders and the club has been giving life to children born with critical heart disorders, the spokesperson said, “The parents/guardians of the children desirous of availing the opportunity shall register their names with Rotn KK Langer, Chief Coordinator of medical camp/Rotary Club Rajouri (contact Nos.9622081718, 9419170540 9419170387, 9419196391) on or before March 14.” Parents/guardians may also contact KK Langer on 9419170603 or on [email protected] and can also meet him at International Higher Secondary School at Rajouri, he said. “Parents/guardians have been advised to contact along with latest ECHO reports, three passport size photographs of children, BPL category proof and medical information forms, “spokesperson said. Spokesperson also said, “Preliminary screening of the patients will be conducted at Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar at Jammu on March 14, while for the children from Kashmir it will be held on March 20 at GB Pant hospital, Badami Bagh at Srinagar” He also said that final screening of the patients will be conducted at Jammu on March 28 by the team of doctors from Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, Delhi led by Dr Krishna S Iyer. Meanwhile he added that parents/guardians have to arrange themselves to and fro travelling expenses, boarding and lodging expenditure while the cost of open heart surgery will be met by Rotary Club under their Project “Gift of Love”. Meanwhile Director Health Services DR Baljeet Pathanis has directed all the Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) of Jammu Province to aware the people through their resources about the camp for screening of the patients. |
